Charles R. Barnett, III — Associate

In addition to serving as Of Counsel to Nolan Law Group, Charles R. Barnett, III is a pilot for a major airline, holding an Airline Transport Pilot License with type ratings in the Boeing 757, 767 and 777. At the firm, Mr. Barnett concentrates on aviation plaintiff litigation and FAA enforcement action defenses.
Chalres Barnett has been a pilot for 30 years and currently operates Boeing 777 aircraft on Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Pacific flights. He has logged more than 10,000 hours flying time without accident or incident and over 7, 000 hours as an airline transport pilot. The list of airliners he has piloted includes Fokker 100, Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 777. He was also a flight engineer on Boeing 727.
From 1982 to 1991, Barnett served in the U.S. Air Force where he flew T-37, T-38, B-52 and B-1 aircraft. He was an Aircraft Commander of a $280 million B-1B and a co-pilot and instructor co-pilot of B-52Hs and B-52Gs. He participated in the world-wide strategic bomber operations and was a Runway Supervisory Officer. Awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
Mr. Barnett is active in numerous aviation law-related organizations, including Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Legal Services Panel, Allied Pilots Association, American Bar Association, Forum on Air & Space Law, American Association for Justice Aviation Law Section, Chicago Bar Association Aviation Law Committee, Experimental Aircraft Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, and National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association.
